About
Lets a user build a benchmark from scratch, defined by strategy, vintage year, geography, and fund size, in any combination, instead of accepting a static, pre-built cohort.
Pooled benchmarks from anonymized providers answer a general question (“where does this fund sit relative to its vintage-year cohort”) but can’t answer a specific one (“where does this fund sit relative to the 10 named funds I actually consider its real competitive set”). Because the underlying data is individual and named rather than pooled, the benchmark is only ever as broad or as narrow as the question requires.
Construct a peer group of mid-market buyout funds, $500M–$1.5B in size, raised 2018–2020, in North America and Western Europe. Compare a target fund’s IRR, TVPI, and DPI against that exact group, fund by fund, rather than against an aggregate median.
Every Joe use case, including this one, draws on the same underlying data — nothing here is a siloed feature.
